WHO IS “BIG NUTT”
In the late 70’s and early 80’s, Shawn started customizing bicycles, painting cars, and building motorcycles for friends. As the mechanical passion grew, so did the lust for horsepower and racing.
Although a capable custom painter, he joined the US Army as a turbine engine mechanic. It was during his time with flight crews in Germany that he developed the nickname “Big Nutt”. On the weekends he would perform engine swaps, and paint cars for guys on base. It was quite the site to see; a car on blocks in a Chinook hangar on the weekends. The Sarge was always cool with it as long as everything was gone, and the hangar was back together for Monday morning duty. The autobahn fueled “Big Nutt’s” passion for speed. Fast forward to now, and the new shop is open.
On any given day the shop could be full with anything from muscle cars, to motorcycles, hot rods, offshore racing boats, or maybe some hopped up jet skis. We have even been known to put some custom paint on refrigerators, and engine swap a tractor.
